New Workspace Precinct

For the past four years, DENFAIR has brought the best of design in Australia under one roof to form a nuanced picture of a well-designed life. This year’s LIFE WORK direction is a direct response to the needs of its design-savvy A&D visitor, for whom the experience of work and home are increasingly fluid.

Launching at DENFAIR in 2019 is a new dedicated workspace sector, showcasing first-time exhibitors specialising in ingenious spatial solutions for the contemporary workforce. Lending their curatorial eye to this new precinct are Angela Ferguson and Gavin Harris of Futurespace, whose expertise in workplace design will bring context to the high calibre of design on show.

The pair will collaborate to create a series of design portraits at the core of the new workplace sector, expressing a design language unique to the Australian workplace. In their words, these vignettes will combine “furniture, finishes, ideas, lighting, graphics and technology to share with the design and wider community the playfulness, inventiveness, creativity and inspiration behind Australian workplace interior design.”

Angela will also host a topical workplace design discussion, joining a celebrated line-up of industry leaders as one of DENFAIR’s Speaker Series moderators. “Workplace interior design is often underestimated, and its innovation and creativity can be overlooked,” says Angela. “Yet the workplaces we design in Australia are amongst the most inventive and cutting edge in the world.”
