A Double-Edged Homage to Intelligent Design

A quarter-century of experience makes an industry expert. And so with 26 years under their belts, connecting Australians with contemporary furniture from the world’s leading brands and studios, KE-ZU’s acumen is unrivalled. Propelled by the understanding that no two clients or spaces are the same, KE-ZU’s range of residential and contract furniture prizes exceptional-quality pieces by environmentally conscious companies. KE- ZU’s roots run deep in Australia’s design scene; many of the Sydney-based company’s internationally renowned suppliers have been with KE-ZU for over two decades, and it was through KE-ZU that many iconic brands were introduced to the good-design hungry Australian market.

At DENFAIR 2018, KE-ZU will host two distinct stands inviting visitors to discover not only the depth of KE-ZU’s offering, but also their diverse distributions channels, and to challenge ideas regarding how commercial spaces can be brought to life.

The Island stand is a multi-brand display designed in collaboration with Matt Sheargold from Wills Sheargold. With its rich colour palette and luxe finishes, the space will showcase the wares of four leading Spanish brands, each lauded for their unwavering commitment to sustainable design. More commonly found in residential settings, the Island stand’s designs are a departure from the ‘usual’. Through stunning pieces by Andreu World, Sancal and Expormim, and lighting studio Parachilna (a young Barcelona-based studio whose luxury lighting made a striking impression at Milan Design Week 2014), visitors are encouraged to consider how colour, texture and boldness can transform a commercial space.

KE-ZU’s second stand offers an enticing contrast – a space focused solely on the technically sophisticated yet visually restrained designs of axona AICHI, designers of the world’s first mesh stacking chair manufactured from 100 per cent recycled materials, and 135-time recipient of the Japanese Good Design Award. Created by Taku Kumazawa – designer of the brand’s multi- award winning TIPO chair – the AICHI stand shines a light on the oft-overlooked design of highly functional, ingeniously utilitarian pieces.

axona AICHI is best known as a global leader in eco-friendly contract furniture; that is, chairs and tables in which thousands upon thousands sit tests, partake in conferences, participate in training and expand their knowledge in manifold ways. In such settings, the functionality and design prowess of the facilitating furniture takes a back seat. And so at DENFAIR 2018, the light-filled AICHI stand will illuminate these state-of-the-art products in a setting befitting their brilliance.

In keeping with their penchant for the unique, daring, intelligently and sustainably designed, KE-ZU’s presence at DENFAIR 2018 is engineered to stoke curiosity, broaden minds, and to underscore an unwavering dedication to creating better environments in which to live, work and relax.
